Absence From School Due to Illness or Exceptional Circumstances
If your child is not well enough to attend school, it is important that you ring the office before 9.30 in the morning. If your child has vomited or suffered from diarrhea, they are not permitted back to school until a full 48 hours has passed from the last episode.
If you are unsure about an illness your child is suffering from there is a very helpful link to an NHS website.
Authorisation for a child to be absent from school for reasons other than ill-health is granted at the discretion of the Headteacher. Requests should be made in writing using the form available on this page which can also be collected from the school office. To be authorised an absence needs to be for what is considered to be an exceptional reason.
