Learning Packs have been sent home with all children, containing a selection of maths, grammar, spelling and writing activities. These can be worked through at your own pace and should be self-marked using the answer booklets which re available to download below. I will be contactable via dojo during normal teaching hours to assist with any questions.
I will use Dojo to post tutorial videos to the class story, based on requests from children and/or parents and upload additional workpacks which can be printed at home. Children can also use their dojo portfolio to send me pictures/vidoes of any learning or activities they are completing at home.
I have also sent home a home learning login for SeeSaw which is the app we use in class so the children are familiar with how to use this. I will use this to post individual feedack videos of childrens' recent tests along with suggestions of further learning tasks and assignments which can be completed online, without the need to print anything.
Hamilton Trust are providing free packs for English and Maths for each year group, giving a structured daily activity for maths and english and some suggested follow up ideas. This will be more than enough to keep your learning up to date!

Keep an eye on the school website as well where you will find further ideas for activities to do as a family as well as curriculum guidance to see the topic objectives which were due to be covered in class and further work which can be downloaded and printed at home. Please continue to read daily and complete the reading homework activities (additional copies available to download on the school website)
Summary of online learning platforms:
Class Dojo - main form of communication and contact for parents - ability for children to upload photos and videos to their portfolio
SeeSaw - video tutorials and feedback will be given directly to individuals
Spelling shed - I will host a hive Game once per week (event will be added to dojo)
TTRockstars - tournaments will be set up and updated weekly
ClassroomSecretsKids - no allocated activities but a selection of grammar and maths games for each year group.
MyMaths - individually allocated maths activities
Zoom - online video conference tool - passcode access to live lessons/group meetings
If you prefer to work offline and wish to purchase further workbooks for your child I recommend the CGP brand as these are well matched to our curriculum expectations and similar format to SATs. These can be purchased from Amazon for approx. £5 each and there are English Maths and Science study books available for each year group to support you.
Welcome to Owl Class
from Mrs Reed Mrs Riden and Mrs Fairey!
Owl Class' Motto is:
Be responsible. Be respectful. Be safe.
Our context for the Spring Term will be War & Conflict, through which we will be exploring the themes of Bravery and Justice.
See below for the curriculum overview.
Homework is due in on Mondays.
Reading: Children should read 4x a week (10-15mins each time) and record this in their reading diary.
In addition, children must complete one reading reflection activity per week.
TT Rockstars – 30 mins per week (at least 10x studio games per week and 10x garage games )
Spelling Shed – 30 mins per week (10x weekly list and 10x other practise)
The top 3 spellers and rockstars each week (highest scorers) will be awarded a Dojo, so the more practise you do, the better your chances of success.
We will also be continuing to use Class Dojo as a means of communicating important messages between home and school, and to keep you updated with what is happening in class. Please ensure you are signed up to stay updated! If you have any problems with the app just pop in and speak to Mrs Reed, who will be happy to help. Children can use the app to upload homework directly to their portfolio, using the QR code provided.
Our residential trip this year is provisionally booked at In2Action Activity Centre for May 18th- 22nd. More details to follow.
