On Monday 22nd January, classes 2, 3 and 4 visited the White Space Gallery in Alresford to find out about a campaign to save elephants in Africa. The children were met by Holly Budge -"a passionate conservationist, artist and world record holding adventurer".
Holly explained to the children about the reasons that 96 elephants a day are killed by poachers for their ivory. She showed the children her art work which has been inspired by elephants and explained how she is campaigning and fundraising in an attempt to save elephants from extinction.
Everyone has completed their own piece of art work in the form of a coloured elephant which will be added to Holly's displayed art work.
The children of Class 3 brought their own elephant art work to show Holly and shared some of the poems they have been writing.
Further images are available in the gallery.
